We are seeking an IT Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Lutron Costa Rica operation. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the organization's IT infrastructure. You will work with hardware, software, networks, and systems, ensuring they function seamlessly to support day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT support.
Responsibilities:
As a uniquely qualified candidate, your main responsibilities will be:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to servers, networks, and computer systems.
- Ensure the proper functioning of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and internet connectivity. Troubleshoot network issues and manage firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Provide technical support for end-users (helpdesk), including troubleshooting hardware and software problems. Assist with software installations and upgrades.
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewalls, encryption, antivirus, and anti-malware software. Regularly perform security audits to ensure system integrity.
- Develop and execute data backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor system performance to ensure optimal operation. Analyze system logs and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT infrastructure, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Prepare regular reports on system performance, incidents, and IT projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and improve existing systems. Provide training and support to staff on new IT systems and tools.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and management of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with external suppliers to ensure equipment, infrastructure and consumables used are appropriate to the operations and are the most efficient solution.
- Supervise and mentor a team of IT support specialists, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed
- Ensure safety policies are being followed.
- Other duties as assigned by area Manager.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent degree in the IT field
- Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00
- Project Management certification or similar is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT support or engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with server administration (Windows Server, Linux, etc.), cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.), and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in hardware diagnostics, installation, and maintenance.
- Experience with IT security best practices and tools.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery systems.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
