Responsible for the partial leadership of initiatives maximizing opportunities as it relates to business processes, identifying needs, and developing strategies. Provide technical thought leadership to junior members of the data and analytics team. Create and review data collateral to be used for served and selfserved data consumers. Partner with and influence developers, stakeholders, system architects and various subject matter experts to determine priorities. Operate as a highly skilled individual contributor with some technical oversight on a single product or subject matter area, while maintaining awareness of the broader system.

Essential Functions:

  • Collect and analyze data for potential business expansion. Identify specific business opportunities. Utilize established knowledge and external learnings or experience to bring in new insights, developments, and opportunities to the team.
  • Influence stakeholders to support business projects. Lead projects and partner with other teams to produce better business outcomes.
  • Ensure optimization and validation initiatives are implemented, tracked and reviewed postproduction. Test business processes and recommend improvements.
  • Visualize, design and prepare data in a framework that can be utilized by served and selfserving stakeholders with direction from senior members of the team.
  • Shape, explore and propose data for business analysis or stakeholder initiatives using core
  • Business Intelligence (BI) tools. Understand which tools and techniques should be used based on the situation presented.
  • Create and present reports to executive team members and shareholders to support recommendations.
  • Utilize a variety of data analysis and organizational tools to uncover insights. Annotate impactors that lead to data anomalies. Identify internal and external drivers to changes in business metrics and process outcomes. Maintain integrity of the data catalog to ensure successful self-service.
  • Serve as first escalation point for complex technical problems. Maintain a presence in the broader data and analytics community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.
  • +3 years’ experience with hands-on data visualization design and development in largescale and complex environments.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with Tableau and Tableau Server.

Additional Skills (preferred but not required):

  • Understanding of vendor and supplier management processes, including onboarding, performance tracking, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of contract management (Workday) and how agreements impact pricing, cost structures, and product availability.
  • Experience with category management, including assortment planning, supplier negotiations, and margin optimization.
  • Experience with cost analysis, pricing models, and margin optimization to improve profitability.
  • Familiarity with Sysco’s business (restaurants, healthcare, education, hospitality) and their purchasing behaviors.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations, sustainability initiatives, and traceability requirements in procurement.
  • Awareness of emerging technology trends in supply chain management, such as AI-driven forecasting, automation, and digital sourcing platforms.
