What You'll Do

We are seeking a strong candidate to fill the Global IT DevSecOps Lead Engineer position in the Secure Infrastructure Platform Group at BCG. You will be an integral part of our Secure Networking squad, working alongside senior engineers to implement and maintain security measures within our DevOps processes. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a foundational understanding of both security and DevOps practices, eager to grow and develop in a dynamic, cloud-first environment. You will support the team in automating security processes, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the secure deployment of applications and services.

The focus of the IT DevSecOps Lead Engineer is to implement state-of-the-art network security infrastructure solutions and connectivity for our internal clients, BCG offices and our multiple Cloud environments. The role will work together with multiple architects and project teams, being involved throughout the design / implementation process. Moreover, the role is responsible to ensure that our network environment is operational and well supported.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for collaboration and open communication. We perform a business-critical function enabling BCG to deliver an amazing experience and value to our customers in a cost recovery model. Our services are provided in a secure and highly available environment, developing solutions which exactly meet needs of our customers, and enabling operations teams to be successful from design to delivery, while maintaining the highest level of security and client discretion.


You're Good At


  • Work with other internal IT teams such as security architecture, security engineering, development, and operations teams to automate issue resolution and release new capabilities

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security practices into the DevOps pipeline

  • Utilize expertise in Python for scripting and automation with Windows, and MacBook systems to enhance security processes

  • Manage and support the installation of software development tools, including GitHub, Python, Docker, and similar tools

  • Implement and maintain security measures for CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure software delivery

  • Conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement remediation strategies

  • Participate in the design and implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or similar tools

  • Develop and maintain documentation for automation procedures, configurations, and best practices

  • Respond to and mitigate security incidents, conducting post-incident analysis and recommending improvements

  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance the organization’s security posture

  • Work on a cross-functional team using agile development principles to build and release new features and bug fixes to meet rapidly evolving business needs

  • Development tools installation expertise running on a MacBook (and, Windows laptop)


What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience in a DevOps or similar role

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming for automation and scripting tasks

  • Experience with software development tools such as GitHub, Terraform, and other DevOps-related tools

  • Process-oriented and analytical working style with high IT affinity, detail-oriented and quality-minded

  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts both in technical and non-technical situations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong English language skills

  • Demonstrates advanced problem solving through independent thinking

  • Works positively and collaboratively with other IT teams, system administrators, developers, project managers and peers in a team-focused environment

  • Seeks occasional guidance on unusual circumstances, typically working with minimum supervision

  • Individually executes and delivers day-to-day work with high quality and effectiveness

  • Develops and implements operational improvements

  • Certifications like Certified DevOps Engineer

Desired

  • BA degree in computer or information sciences or similar field preferred

  • Solid knowledge of network security to include but not limited to LAN, firewall, server technology

  • BA degree in computer or information sciences or similar field preferred

  • Good understanding of security principles and best practices

  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management
