Operations Assistant Manager

On-site role Mon-Fri (w/1 hour lunch)

Job Responsibilities of Operations Assistant Manager:

  • Solid Container Shipping industrial knowledge, capable of handling daily operations across multiple major ports.
  • Monitors the team’s daily workload, adjusting task assignments as needed based on vessel cutoff schedule changes.
  • Reviews team productivity, providing coaching and guidance to help members achieve performance goals.
  • Handles urgent or special cases efficiently to improve customer satisfaction and foster mutual benefits.
  • Maintains close communication with the NAG (North America Group) teams for emergency handling, standardizing work procedures, and offering timely suggestions and assistance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Supervisory experience in a team environment
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Troubleshoots problems regularly using analytical skills
  • Familiar with various terminal systems (e.g., N4, Orion, Forecast, Web platforms).

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Terminal, Rail, and Motor Carrier Operations
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
  • 5 Years of related Industry experience

Other responsibilities include coordination of off hire/sale unit terminations, monitoring depots for timely repairs of damaged units, holding depots accountable for inventory accuracy and releasing assets using FIFO (first in, first out) method.
