In my time at Abbott Labs I have found the place to be very disorganized. There is a lot of time wasted trying to get things moving. (Missing paperwork, missing build components, getting people in the right places etc.) There are a lot of language barriers that hampers day to day work. The people are very nice and try too help you. There is little to no communication and training. From what I have heard from people that have been there before Covid, it wasn't always like it is now. They expanded a lot during this time, and many experienced people went to a new facility in Westbrook. Things are starting to settle down so maybe things will improve.
Purposeful meaningful work Great team leadsAwful upper management ( they publicly berate and yell at employees) Abbott is aware and doesn't care12 hours a day(2-2-3 shifts)Free lunch everyday
Nothing is done about poor management
growth is almost impossible. Management was bad, not caring about their employee, very rude. Terrible pay, good if you are a new graduate but not worth it for a professional.
Free lunches, training program
bad pay, not growth
If your department is small, get ready to perform your job duties and SEVERAL other positions' job duties
Management nodded their heads when issues were brought up, but no change was ever enacted to make employee life better and more productive. Benefits are fine, but there's a reason many at Abbott try and move over to IDEXX... People are not generally too friendly and my team at Abbott was not a very trustworthy or honest one.
A nice place to work in due to culture around you, but bad management style, no work-life balance, stressfull, no appreciation from manager, recently they are following the close door policy
Long hours, no work life balance

Experience of culture can differ depending on which unit you work in as an operator.Fast pace but you get used to it.Follow the procedures and don't be bullied/ influenced into skipping steps
Shift pattern gets harder as you get older
Working in the Quality department as a contracted Post-Market Surveillance Analyst was overall a bad experience. The department was horrendously mismanaged, my manager did not know anything about our team's work and she was actively working on a different team simultaneously. Management was absent until our metrics started showing the strain of too-high work loads. Then we were told we didn't actually have that much work and just needed to work more. Very poor work-life balance.
Bad management, toxic work environment, poor work-life balance, difficult to get promoted
That place needs new management ASAP! No higher up cares about you all they want is their product most stores shelves don’t care about their employees horrible management all the way around.
Meeting new people
It was a good temp job. Paid well. Perm employees get great benefits. I was in Production which made my brain melt... You work with a lot of people who barely speak English which made it hard to make connections.
long 12 hour shifts.
I really enjoy working here. The people are friendly and helpful and the work is rewarding. Individual team collaboration is great, but cross department collaboration could be better. Sales team is good, but given a little too much credit for the success of the company. Employees are respected and valued.

Not enough promotions available, since employees stay for a long time.
